Please Welcome Our New Principals!
Dear Staff, Parents, and Students,
We are delighted to announce the appointments of Leslie Beatson and Michelle Walker as Principals at Neil Cummins Elementary School. These appointments were approved by the Larkspur School District Board of Trustees at their May 20 Board meeting. Leslie and Michelle will serve as intermediate and primary Principals for the 2009-2010 school year.
The selection process introduced us to a number of extremely qualified educators. Leslie and Michelle stood out among their peers for energy, enthusiasm, intellect, sense of humor, and warmth. As you know, Michelle has served as Assistant Principal at Neil Cummins for two years. Leslie has served as Principal for six years in the state of Vermont and is moving to California with her family in July (for Leslie’s bio please click here).
These women will bring their expertise to our school and promote continuous improvement in areas such as assessment and data analysis, interventions, and the arts and technology, to name just a few.
Leslie and Michelle will split administrative responsibilities by primary and intermediate grades. Parents will report to each in alignment with their son or daughters’ grade placement. You will receive letters from each of them as they begin the school year in August. At that time, we will hold events so that you may meet and get to know our Principals!
We are delighted that Leslie and Michelle have agreed to become partners in the administration of our wonderful Neil Cummins Elementary School. Their vision for collaboration, communication and community involvement will inspire us and ensure an extraordinary education for every child and a positive, supportive environment where each student can thrive.
